21f // Long term friend needed

im looking for new people that'll hopefully turn into long term friends. Whenever im not at work i play video games (mainly bf1) and stare at images on my phone endlessly to prevent a coherent thought from forming. i used to have more hobbies i was enthusiastic about (watching videos/ reading about game lore, movies,history, drawing and researching random topics/aesthetics) but depression and growing up squeezed the satisfaction out of doing most of them

additional rant that probably not many will bother reading: ive noticed most people are more comfortable with just not talking to strangers despite an initial attempt at connecting , and i think we should acknowledge it when we feel a lack of a click or mismatch in expectations from one another instead of going silent. ive done this too and i know it fuels an endless cycle of disappointment and loneliness, especially for neurodivergent and/or less socialised people such as myself. i think we all have inhibitions that prevent us from getting close to other people (not in all cases though, because theres people out there who cant fathom putting more effort into a message other than "hi") How can we connect to others when we dont know what to latch onto? True friendship takes time to develop and another issue is expecting this friendship meter to fill up in just a few days and getting annoyed when the other person is busy or talks about mundane "uninteresting" daily things. we re addicted to the fantasy of finding the perfect friend that ticks all the boxes and i dont know how attainable this dream is
