29 My experience on . You're all beautiful people. Please take care of yourselves and each other.

I wanted to share my experience on so that others can hopefully gain something from my experience. I posted on a little more then a month ago and I thought I was insanely blessed to receive many responses but one stood out above the rest as it really connected with me. This person and I started talking and a real connection started to take root. We talked every day for the past month and it was the shining light of my days. For the first time since my divorce I didn't feel completely lonely. I was amazed and grateful for this.

We arranged to meet as I was traveling through their hometown on my way to see family. I flew in and expected to spend three days continuing our conversation in person and bonding. Obviously, things didn't go as planned. They left me alone at the airport, in a city I didn't know, without a hotel room, and any idea what to do. Texting me and saying they just couldn't do it.

This was a terrible thing to do to someone. But many of you I'm sure are not surprised in the least. I was stupid and naive. But not angry, I pity the person really.

But my point - reddit, texting, snapchat, these are powerful tools. They can make you feel connected without being present. Please be careful everyone, please take your time, and protect your heart. No person can take away your pain, they mask it, but until you fix you, they are only a distraction.

Needless to say, I'm going to focus on me for awhile. Lean on my true friends more, and find a way to lessen the pain on my own. Any ideas are appreciated. Right now the pain is a bit overwhelming but I will be ok. Wish me luck on my journey! :)
