39 Busy dad seeks other busy parents.

πŸ“ Oshawa

Being a parent has been surprisingly isolating. Friends we had kind of drifted away as we had less in common day to day, and we're just now getting to the point where hopefully making friends with other parents is the norm.

I miss meeting for BBQ and game nights. Going to.the drive in. Parenting while hanging out doesn't feel like it takes away from what's happening. Its who I/we are now. Finding time to go to a movie or out for the night instead of the park is hard enough.

I generally do better meeting and making small talk with the moms in the park or wherever. We both have shift work jobs and I'm naturally out when the working moms or parents in similar spots are. I have trouble breaking the awkwardness of meeting another dad, but maybe that's in my head. It feels like the wall of having nothing in common is harder to overcome with dad's, while actively parenting is a good ground breaker for mom.

I like the outdoors, games, cooking, need stuff and non need stuff. So, let's see how this goes.
