Looking to form a connection.

Hey to anyone taking the time to read this, my name's Ryan, and I'm hoping to find someone I can establish a meaningful connection with.

I'll start by saying that I'm Asexual. And while it would be nice to connect with other ace people, I'm open to talking with anyone who's open and understanding.

I've tried dating apps in the past but they've never really felt quite right. And while I know that using this site is kind of a shot in the dark, I figured I didn't really have much to lose.

As for myself, I consider myself to be pretty empathetic and open person. Although I've made it to 38, I haven't really had much experience in relationships, I think partly due to my asexuality. I'm fairly soft spoken but I think I have a pretty nice sense of humor and I'm also regularly complimented on the soothing sound of my voice.

Lately I've been trying to delve into more hobbies and interests to give my life some more fulfillment. I've started to learn how to paint, play the piano, and I want to learn a new language. I also recently got into building model kits. I enjoy playing video games (although not as much these days). I enjoy reading, fitness, poetry, vinyl collecting and gardening (new hobby), and I'm fairly well-traveled and have explored quite a bit of Europe. I'd love to meet someone who could bring me out of my shell a bit and who could encourage me to try new things. I often enjoy the idea of new experiences but have difficulty acting on it.

I guess I should describe what I'm looking for. Softness and kindness are important qualities to me, but that doesn't mean I don't want to talk to someone who isn't assertive. I require a little bit if patience since I'm kind of timid, but a bit of force is helpful for me. Appearance isn't a strong factor, but I'm a fairly active person when it comes to fitness, so bare minimum, I'd like someone willing to explore fitness with me, at least a little bit.

I'm also left-leaning politically.
