What is friendship supposed to look like in your 30s?

Im struggling with one person because they only seem to want to hangout when it’s convenient for them. Examples, they only call when they’re driving and need someone to entertain them during a long road trip to make the time go by. If they’re passing through the area they’ll reach out, but I’m never the main reason they’re there. They try to rope you in their spontaneous plans and hope you agree so they don’t have to go alone. And list just kinda goes on.

The reason I ask is because do friendships just look like this as you get older? Since we’re all so busy in life, I get trying to kill two birds with one stone occasionally. But it seems like the sole purpose is hangouts at their convenience. And maybe this is just how they operate but have yet to be checked for it
