41 Bookish academic looking for someone to share what we're reading, thinking about, dirty texts, private jokes and all the rest (Toronto/Online)

I’m certain that literally nobody I know would suspect I'd be posting something like this, and I think I'm looking for someone in the same boat. 41 year old married dad, I like where I am in life in almost every way, I am just missing that life enhancing spark of having someone to fall for, lust for, share things and joke with and have no real plan about how things will develop.

I feel like that little aspect of \\\*me\\\* has been lost what with the usual mountain of adult responsibilities and I would like to rekindle it and share it with someone similar. A little about me- I am a lecturer in English Literature and I really love everything about it (not everything, not the meetings and admin, but you know, almost). I live near Toronto somewhere nice and leafy and I get to travel in and experience the fun bits of being a Torontoer a few times a week (art, cinemas, restaurants, occasionally great evenings of pub then dinner then live gig or stand-up) with the odd work trip around the country every so often. I read a lot, I make a big effort to keep up with new music to avoid falling into the 'everything was better when I happened to be in my 20s' trap and I do what I can to stay positive despite the world. I'm 6'2, greying but not balding (I'm so thankful) and as a description I'd go with dad bod tempered by weights and jogging. I'm very very good at about 1/3rd of the rounds of a standard pub quiz and useless at the rest.

In an ideal world you'd be a bit of a nerd in whichever way makes you you (games, music, books, a specific academic pursuit, sewing, anything that obsesses you a bit), be clever and lefty, funny and romantic and daydreamy and would want someone to share that with. Other than that, I'm open on age, location etc (but I cannot help loving girls in glasses).

I don't want to change our situations, I just want to find a spark and see where it goes. Introduce yourself, tell me what you're into lately!
