To me, being a Dom isn’t about forcing someone to serve. It isn’t about that thirst for power or sexual control. Those are definitely important aspects, but in no way do they encompass what a D/s dynamic entails. To me, it is all about that person that you desire to be yours. You are asking someone to be with you and for them to willingly give control over themselves to you. It’s not something easy to do for most (but not all). The sub is lifting up that wall we all have built up around us to protect ourselves and letting you in. She is exposing herself to the greatest degree hoping that the one she allows in is the right person. She wants someone who makes her happy and who won’t leave at the first sign of trouble. Someone to be there for her and to guide her. To hold her hand in the darkness and to be her light. Someone to hold her accountable. A sense of stability in an otherwise crazy world. Someone to serve and obey. Someone who will punish her when she is disobedient and put her back in her place when necessary.
