Anyone else have trouble making friends as an adult?

Hello fellow peeps!

A tad about myself. I am a 24 year old gal who recently moved to Ontario from the west coast. I was used to the farmer’s market and bicycling around town lifestyle. People were friendly and I knew my neighbors as well as all the cats in the neighborhood. Now I am in lovely but cold Ontario and lately I felt my little cow of a pup can only provide so much companionship. I tried the MeetUp groups however, they weren’t successful. I tried to meet up people to see a concert and I ended up being the only attendant. I attempted Bumble BFF which apparently only pairs girls to be friends just with other girls. Upon my bumble BFF discovery I noticed that many girls profiles were all about going to brunch for bottomless mimosas, watching the Bachelor, wine nights, IG photo buddies, talking about make up, and girls night out. I have a hard time identifying with any of those activities. I am just a simple nerdy gal who loves animals, science, sci-fi, books, sailing, volunteering, antique collections, cooking, exploring abandoned buildings, and having actual open conversations about anything under the sun.

If you think we have some similarities I would love to get to know you and hopefully be friends. Bonus points if you have a pup to be friends with mine.

Edit: I would prefer if you are in DC. I am trying to physically hang out.
