40 we shouldn't be here but here we are...

We are married, with kids. We love our partners, but the spark is missing. They aren't interested in our lives anymore. We have it all, on paper. But we are lonely. We want someone who wants to connect on a deeper level. Even though maybe we aren't sure what that means. It might just be having a friend who gets it. Or more.

We are good-enough looking. We are told we have great eyes and a nice smile and good-enough hair. We are relatively fit or working on it seriously. We care about how we look but not to the point it distracts us from the more meaningful things in life.

We are attached not to types, but energy. Someone who has a lot of fire inside of them, even though it might be kindling there with no place to let it out. We are funny in an offbeat and somewhat intellectual-yet-perverse sort of way. We can slip from conversing about the insurrection to solving world hunger to masturbation and it won't seem like a weird transition.

We will inspire each other, care for each other, and not pass that line of safety that all OA should be. No situation changes. Just connection.
